Our locks use 4 batteries (two (2) operating and two (2) remain as a backup) there is no external wiring needed.
The batteries can last up to two (2) years. (Depending on battery quality and lock use)
The lock will advise by beeping when using a staff key. The three beeping sounds indicate the batteries are low. If the batteries are close to dying the lock won’t allow the staff to unlock, even if the staff has the access granted.
An emergency battery pack can be plugged underneath the front escutcheon providing power. This will enable the door to be opened and the batteries replaced.
The ALV2 series is a maintenance-free lock, since it doesn’t have any clutches or springs on the handles.
To correct this, please reprogram the lock using the DTU Tablet or Legacy (refer to DTU reference manual) then confirm with a key opening the lock. If the flashing lights continue please contact us.
The locks can be programmed as guest room, common door, special door or non-guest door. For more details please refer to the DTU tablet or Legacy quick reference manual.
- Guest room : lock will operate as a guest room or apartment.
- Common door : lock will operate as a common area lock. Automatically open and guest or tenant card operation can be set.
- Special door : This setting is for other rooms and facilities to which designated guest’s access is granted (such as a swimming pool, fitness gym, etc.). Up to 40 different areas can be registered.
- Non-Guest door : This setting is for rooms or areas to which no guest access is granted (such as a back office, storage, linen supply room, etc.). Up to 100 different areas can be registered.

- Sequence error : Use the DTU tablet or Legacy to clear the sequence on the lock. For more information refer to DTU Quick reference manual “Clearing a lock sequence”
Note: you can always read the guest key and it you withwill provide the “Error Type”
I programmed a new common door, the staff keys are working but the guest keys are NOT, what can I do?
If guest keys are not working the room range was not entered during the lock programming. For more information please refer to the DTU quick reference manual.
Note: when you are entering the room range please use the lowest and the highest room number. For example: if the hotel or apartment building has 100 rooms or apartments and the numbers start from room 101 to 925, that means the lowest number is room 101 and the highest is room 925.

For example: Monday – Wednesday – Friday – Saturday From 7:00am to 3:00pm. Other than these days and time the staff key won’t work on any lock.
For further details please refer to the ALV2 software manual “How to create staff or employee in the system”.

Find below the possible options why a staff key may not be working :
- Batteries are too low : the staff key may have the Not Unlock Battery Near End option. Replace the batteries
- Sequence error : Use the DTU tablet or Legacy to clear the sequence on the lock. For more information refer to the DTU Quick reference manual “Clearing a lock sequence”
- Guest key shutout option : If the guest key was set with the shutout option then only the master or emergency key can open the lock. In order to cancel the shutout option, issue a new guest key without this option and use it on the lock.

Using the Emergency Card on the lock to be opened, a green light will turn on and the lock unlocked until you release the emergency open mode. In order to release the emergency open mode activate the deadbolt. If the emergency open stays on use the DTU tablet or Legacy – in the Lock Control menu select release EM and send the information to the lock. Since the lock is on, a DTU card is not needed.
Note: the Emergency Card can open all locks in the building and override the deadbolt.
Please plug the emergency battery pack in to the front escutcheon to provide power to the lock and then use the key, fob or wristband in order to open the lock. If the problem persists confirm the reader is properly connected to the board.
When I present a key, fob or wristband on a lock, it shows a green light but doesn’t open, what should I do?
In this case consider the following two options :
a) The mortise is not properly plugged to the board. Please remove the back of the lock to make sure the mortise is properly plugged – we recommend unplugging and plugging it back to the board. You will hear a click on the mortise – if so it means the mortise is OK. Now again try the key to confirm it is operational.
If the mortise does not make the click sound, try the key to confirm it is still not working. If so, we suggest trying with a different mortise.
b) The antenna reader is not properly plugged to the board. Please make sure the antenna reader is plugged to the board – we recommend unplugging and plugging it back to the board. Now try the key, fob or wristband to confirm if the antenna reader is operational or needs to be changed.
Note : Confirm all wires are in good condition.
To correct this, please re-program the lock using the DTU Tablet or Legacy (refer to DTU reference manual) then confirm with a key opening the lock. If the flashing lights continue please contact us.
