Spare Parts / Battery Tips

MAINTENANCE

Our locks use 4 batteries (two (2) operating and two (2) remain as a backup) there is no external wiring needed.

The batteries can last up to two (2) years. (Depending on battery quality and lock use)

The lock will advise by beeping when using a staff key. The three beeping sounds indicate the batteries are low. If the batteries are close to dying the lock won’t allow the staff to unlock, even if the staff has the access granted.

An emergency battery pack can be plugged underneath the front escutcheon providing power. This will enable the door to be opened and the batteries replaced.

The ALV2 series is a maintenance-free lock, since it doesn’t have any clutches or springs on the handles.

To correct this, please reprogram the lock using the DTU Tablet or Legacy (refer to DTU reference manual) then confirm with a key opening the lock. If the flashing lights continue please contact us.

SECURITY

DTU : using the DTU Legacy or Tablet, you can retrieve the last 700 events recorded on a lock. For instruction please refer to the DTU Tablet reference manual “How to Interrogate a lock” or the DTU Legacy quick reference manual “Uploading interrogation data to DTU”.

Using the Emergency Card on the lock to be opened, a green light will turn on and the lock unlocked until you release the emergency open mode. If the emergency open stays on use the DTU tablet or Legacy – in the Lock Control menu select release EM and send the information to the lock. Since the lock is on, a DTU card is not needed.

Defective or

NON-FUNCTIONING LOCKS

Please plug the emergency battery pack in to the front escutcheon to provide power to the lock and then use the key, fob or wristband in order to open the lock. If the problem persists confirm the reader is properly connected to the board.

In this case consider the following two options :

a) The mortise is not properly plugged to the board. Please remove the back of the lock to make sure the mortise is properly plugged – we recommend unplugging and plugging it back to the board. You will hear a click on the mortise – if so it means the mortise is OK. Now again try the key to confirm it is operational.

If the mortise does not make the click sound, try the key to confirm it is still not working. If so, we suggest trying with a different mortise.

b) The antenna reader is not properly plugged to the board. Please make sure the antenna reader is plugged to the board – we recommend unplugging and plugging it back to the board. Now try the key, fob or wristband to confirm if the antenna reader is operational or needs to be changed.

Note : Confirm all wires are in good condition.

To correct this, please re-program the lock using the DTU Tablet or Legacy (refer to DTU reference manual) then confirm with a key opening the lock. If the flashing lights continue please contact us.
